Stone row in Curraduff

The precise details of this site are a little uncertain. Situated on the steep E side of Glenfais, with extensive views along the valley and N across Tralee Bay, it is shown on the OS maps as a single 'Gallaun'. However, it was later described as 'an alignment of 3 stones' orientated roughly N-S (Browne et al. 1911, 49). The two N stones, 2.7m and 3.4m long, lay prostrate 3.4m apart; the 3rd stone stood 7.7m to S and was 2.5m high and 1.98m wide tapering to a point at top. The number of prostrate slabs was elsewhere (CKFC 1939, 19 and 1941, 181) given as 3 and 7 or 8. The stones had been broken up and removed by 1945 (CKFC 1945, 576).
