What is recorded here

On saddle to the NW of Milane Hill, 50m S of the headwaters of Dirty river. These two stones, aligned NE-SW, stand 1.5m apart, with an overall length of 3.05m. The NE stone is 0.95m L, 0.7m T and 1.5m H. The SW stone is 0.6m L, 0.6m T and 0.85m H. (O Nualláin 1988, 246, no. 121; Roberts 1988, Ch. 5, no. 44) This is a national Monument in State Ownership (no. 536). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
