Mullyard Standing Stone in County Armagh is a prehistoric marker, possibly a megalithic tomb, where human hands shaped stone before written memory began. The chamber may have held dead bodies, living prayers, or both, depending on whether you believe the builders wanted to keep the dead close or push them into the dark. Either way, the stone still stands while the people who placed it vanished, leaving behind a shape sharp enough to cut through centuries.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE - possibly MEGALITHIC TOMB: MULLYARD STANDING STONE. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
