Standing stone in Shronebeha

Bowman (1934, 228) recorded standing stone on T. Kiely's land; 'It was said that treasure was buried under this stone; the stone was broken and removed'. According to Grove White (1905-25 vol. 2, 220), 'a large stone called "Cloughlea" or the "grey stone"'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
