What is recorded here

Recumbent in J. Daly's field, twelve yards east of its neighbour, the stone measured seven feet one inch long and two feet two inches wide when Bowman recorded it in 1934. It lay among six stones in Nohaval Upper, a quiet cluster marking human presence before memory faded. By 1957 the stone had disappeared, leaving no visible trace behind. What remained was shape in the mind, a rectangle of stone resting in soil, perhaps watched over, perhaps forgotten, but real enough to be measured and lost.

One of six standing stones (10136, 10137, 10139, 10140, 10141), recorded by Bowman (1934, 659) in this townland; '(c) In J. Daly's; 12 yards E. of (b); this is recumbent; 7ft 1in by 2ft 2in wide'. Likely dating to the late Neolithic or Bronze Age, this standing stone was part of a small local group, possibly linked to ritual or territorial markers. Its removal in the mid-20th century has obscured any potential folklore or specific use associated with the site.
