Standing stone in Meengorman stood on land belonging to Mrs. David Dreslane until it was removed around 1924. It is no longer visible, but it once marked the field and gave the area a shape people could point to.
Bowman (1934, 123) recorded standing stone on Mrs. David Dreslane's land, '...removed c. 1924'. Exact location not known.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
