What is recorded here

Knockeenatuder held a standing stone on P. O'Doherty's land until people removed it about twenty years before Bowman wrote in 1934. The exact spot has faded from local memory, but the stone clearly stood where people could see it, judge it, use it or dispute it before disappearing. What is left is a hole in the landscape, marked only by the fact that it was worth recording and then worth taking away.

Bowman (1934, 254) recorded standing stone on P. O'Doherty's land '...removed about 20 years ago'. Exact location not known.
