What is recorded here
Kippagh, County Cork: Broker (1937, 30) recorded a standing stone in Tim Buckley's land, called Gallán, 5 feet high and 5 feet in girth. The exact spot has slipped from sight, but the measurements suggest a stout stone tall enough to mark a boundary, a path or a memory. People may have passed it without thinking, or touched it when lost, while it stood firm through rain, ploughing and forgetting.
