Kilmogue standing stone is a 1.55m conglomerate upright in County Kilkenny, set firmly in a gentle pasture slope with packing stones at its base. It stands slightly narrower at the bottom and wider toward the top, oriented northwest to southeast, while a portal tomb waits about one hundred metres to the northeast. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial approach or a place where people gathered before the tomb was built, but its exact role has faded. What remains is a solid stone in open fields, still visible and still capable of stopping a person long enough to wonder.

In pasture, on gentle SW-facing slope. This conglomerate upright (H 1.55m; Wth 1.35m; T 0.6m), oriented NW-SE, is firmly set in ground with some packing stones at base on SE-side. It is slightly narrower at the base and the width increases towards the top of the stone. Some loose field clearance stones have been placed near it. Dated to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, this standing stone may have had ceremonial or territorial significance. No specific folklore or inscriptions are associated with it.
