The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Stone is of granite, apparently propped with chocking stone. Rectangular section, tapering towards top (H 1.85m; dims. at base 1m x 0.65m, at top 0.15m x 0.5m). According to local information, may have been raised for cutting as gatepost.
