The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 According to local tradition, stood adjacent to Garryhill House. No definite visible traces. Wall of walled garden and part of S side of stable yard regarded as part of castle. Shape of garden suggests possible bawn. Date stone (TB 1690) incorporated in gateway to garden.
