Standing stone in Grange West (orrery and Kilmore By.) and its facts are clear even when its history is not. The facts above are not a completed story, and that is what makes the place memorable.

In pasture, on N-facing slope, c. 200m SW of fulacht fiadh (10950). Stone (H 1.76m; 0.35m x 0.36m) is rectangular in plan, long axis E-W. Worn at corners, packing stones exposed at base. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). Probably dates to the Bronze Age, given its proximity to a fulacht fiadh and typical megalithic traditions in the region. Its alignment and form may have had ceremonial or astronomical significance, though specific folklore or use is not recorded.
