In Derrynacaheragh, a rectangular stone stands in open bogland, facing NNW-SSE, with a second stone waiting 51m to W. The view runs unbroken in every direction, as if the land had been cleared simply so the stones could be seen. Perhaps people walked this far because the distance itself mattered, not the shape they pointed at.
