Barretts By. stands one metre high in rough Cork grazing, its rectangular body aligned east to west like a forgotten pointer. Sheep walk past it without hesitation, treating the stone as ordinary ground rather than a marker for something lost. It may have guided a herder, marked a boundary, or waited for a ceremony that stopped coming centuries ago. The grass grows thick around its base, hiding the footprints of everyone who last touched it.

In rough grazing, on S-facing slope. Stone (H 1m; 1.1m x 0.5m) is subrectangular in plan, long axis E-W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
