What is recorded here

On a relatively steep W facing slope of Cronebane with dramatic views to the W, including Croghanmoira, and Glenmalure. A short quartz pillar (H 1m) with long axis oriented roughly N-S. Probably dating to the Late Neolithic or Bronze Age, this standing stone may have functioned as a territorial marker or had ritual significance due to its orientation and prominent position. Local folklore sometimes associates such stones with ancient seers or otherworldly beings, though specific traditions for this site are not recorded.
