What is recorded here

Carrigfadda holds one rectangular stone, one metre tall and eighty centimetres long, pointing north and south across a level pasture field. It is not a grand monument or a crowded ritual site. It is a single mark left behind in an open place where people once lived, worked and remembered. The missing second stone mentioned in old writing may have been removed, buried or never recorded. The first stone still stands, waiting to be seen.

In a level pasture field, with clear views to the E. This standing stone (0.8m x 0.3m; H 1.02m) is roughly rectangular in plan and is orientated N-S. This may be one of the standing stones referred to by Roberts (1988, 55) who describes 'two fields [that] contain standing stones' in this area.
