Under the heart of an ancient ringfort in West Cork, a hidden passage waits beneath years of forgotten growth. People built it deliberately, perhaps to keep warmth, hide treasure or escape rain, yet no entrance remains visible today. The land has swallowed the work, leaving only a ghost of purpose beneath the grass.

In centre of ringfort (CO141-129001-). Marked 'Cave' on OS 6-inch map (1902). No visible surface trace; heavily overgrown. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
