What is recorded here

No stone remains in Carnowen, only the memory of a vertical mark on rich arable land facing north. The site lost its visible form before modern cameras arrived, yet the ground still holds the shape of what stood there. People may have measured distance, counted seasons or simply watched the horizon from that exact spot. The earth kept the lesson while the stone disappeared.

Marked as 'Standing Stone' on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map and as 'Standing Stone (site of)' on the 3rd edition. There are no visible remains.
