What is recorded here
Wintergrass estate in Bellewstown still holds the standing stone, local memory calling it older than the farms around it. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning, while people moved through County Meath with dogs, children and carts. It is not a showpiece, but a witness, waiting for the chance to be understood.
Located on Wintergrass estate. Local tradition that this is an antiquity (pers. comm. Mr Colin Byrne, Briarleas, County Meath).
