What is recorded here

Two stones are noted in Ballynacourty, though a vanished third called the Gallaun disappeared before the first survey. The uncertainty is not a flaw but a shape of the place: stones appearing, vanishing, reappearing under new names. Walk the field at dusk and count what shadows permit.

No trace survives of the 'Gallaun' marked on the 1st edition of the OS map. In the OSM 2 stones are noted in this area, neither position corresponding to that on the 1st edition, and it is therefore uncertain how many stones originally existed.
