What is recorded here

Mystery stone: 3.1m tall, standing in open field before men buried it inside a wall. It raged against the border being drawn, or perhaps it was simply in the way of a new fence. Either way, human hands chose to erase it rather than walk around it.

Stone (L 3.1m) incorporated into base of field wall. Known locally to have stood in field to W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Likely dating to the Bronze Age (c. 2500–500 BCE), the stone may have originally functioned as a territorial marker or ritual monument. Local tradition or folklore is not specifically recorded for this site.
