What is recorded here

A straight rectangular stone still stands in bogland on the north foothills of Coomacloghane Mountain, aligned northeast to southwest. It rises about one and a half metres above the damp earth, narrow enough to grasp but heavy enough to have defied forgetting. People may have set it there as a marker, a warning or a gift to someone no longer named. The bog has taken much more generous care of it than pride ever could.
