Church in Ardgroom Inward

In pasture, on a S-facing slope in a field known locally as 'Páirc an tSeipéil'. The remains of a rectangular church (int. dims. 9.8m N-S; 4.7m E-W) consisting of large sod-covered base stones of walls (T 0.7m; H 0.65m) on the S and E sides, a face of outcropping rock on the N side and a roughly built stone wall (H 1.3m) forming part of a field boundary on the W side. The interior slopes down gently to the S. The entire remains are covered by a thick growth of ferns. This church possibly dates to the period of the penal laws (1690s to 1750s AD).
