In cutaway bog. Oval area (12.1m N-S; 17.1m E-W) enclosed by earth and stone bank (H 1m). Possible entrance (Wth 3m) to S. Bog cut up to edge of site but remains un-cut on banks and interior giving enclosure raised appearance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.
