St. James Well — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Some 160m NW of, and upslope from, a graveyard. (GA094-049001-). It apparently consists of a natural spring, now incorporated into one of the private gardens of Cruachan Park housing estate where it has been extensively landscaped (info. T. Fanning). Not visited. St. James Well at Rahoon is traditionally associated with St. James the Greater, one of the Twelve Apostles, and is linked to healing rituals and the collection of water for sick or ailing individuals. Holy wells dedicated to St. James are often connected to pilgrimages and were historically visited on the feast day of St. James (25 July) for blessings and cures.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
