St Bridget's Well consists of a natural spring well in a hollow in a field under tillage. Described in 1975 as a 'natural spring in bushy hollow in ploughed field' (Henry A. Wheeler 13/05/1975, SMR File). No longer venerated (Healy 1975, 19). Now appears as a grassy soggy circular pool (diam. c. 2m) in corner of a field under tillage (Skyvova 2005, 44). St. Bridget's Well is associated with St. Brigid of Kildare, a prominent Irish saint linked to healing and fertility. Traditionally, the well may have been visited for its curative properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and women's health, in line with Brigid's widespread veneration in early Christian Ireland.
