St Bartholomews Well hides beneath a large stone slab in overgrown West Cork, no longer used for holy purposes but still remembered as a domestic water source early last century. The area resists easy location, suggesting the well prefers to be forgotten rather than displayed. What remains is a buried utility, perhaps sacred once, now reduced to a local hint and a hidden source of clean water.

St Bartholomew's Well is associated with St Bartholomew, one of the twelve apostles, traditionally linked to healing and protection. The well's former sacred status may have been diminished when it was repurposed as a domestic water source in the early 20th century.
