St Barrys

Graveyard

What is recorded here

St Barrys is the Gaelic football club born from Termonbarry, where saint Berach founded an abbey in the 6th century. The village name still means Berach's sanctuary, linking green-and-white players to ancient prayer and Shannon water. Hydroplanes raced there from 1925 to 1935, but cost and distance killed the frenzy. The graveyard, club and bridge now share one strange life: memory moving fast, then settling into repeated local love.
St Barrys is a graveyard in County Roscommon, Ireland.
