Source of the Seven Streams

At the base of a S-facing escarpment on the N side of a small ravine, within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL010-064001-). Named ‘Source of the Seven Streams’ on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. The same OS mapping record ‘Waterfalls’ and a single stream dividing into ‘The Seven Streams of Teeskagh’ c. 650m downslope to the SW. This is a small pool, from which water flows to the W. Brown veins (possibly due to natural iron) are visible in the bedrock forming the base of the pool. Growing around it are ragged robin, forget-me-not, white orchid, meadow sweet and bloody cranebill.
