On a low rise of ground with good views of the surrounding countryside. Possible barrow (WM040-001----) located 140m to N. No surface remains visible of a possible cairn depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as 'Slaghta'. Not indicated on the current ed. OS 6-inch map. According to the Placenames of Westmeath (Walsh 1957, 271) the word sleachta refers to 'a cairn of stones in the townland of Frevanagh'. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 01 August 2013
