Site of Church

Marked as the site of a church on the 1839 and 1940 eds. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated at the bottom of a steep, wooded scarp down to the flood-plain of the N-S River Slaney, which is c. 120m to the E. This is a rubble-strewn and overgrown area (dims. 17m E-W; 14m N-S) in a pasture field with the foundations of some walls visible. An arc of an ecclesiastical enclosure survives as a scarp NNE-ESE (C 78m) just to the E. There is no evidence of burial. The holy well (WX020-020----) is c. 40m SW of the church.
