Situated on a SW-facing slope of Tower Hill. The parish church of Clonagam, which was impropriate to St. Catherine's Abbey in Waterford city (WA009-005029-) in 1540 (White 1943, 343). The present C of I church was built in 1741 (Power 1895b, 251-2) and perhaps rebuilt in 1794 (Ryland 1824, 282-3) on the site of an older foundation which is no longer visible at ground level. It is within a rectangular graveyard (dims. c. 90m N-S; c. 50m E-W) defined by a masonry wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
