Ballyportry South holds the original location of a sheela-na-gig found close to Ballyportry Castle. The figure has moved elsewhere, but the place still points toward that discovery. A carved woman may have watched the castle gate, mocking fear or marking birth, death and desire without apology. Her absence makes the location sharper because the stone left behind a shape of human wonder.
