Graveyard6 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Graveyard in Saintdoolaghs encloses St. Doulagh's Church, with medieval mouldings acting as coping stones. Rumor has it there’s a hidden tunnel straight to the local pub, but I haven’t checked. Walk past slowly like you're in a film.
Explorer Tom Saint Doolagh's Church has incorporated an older tower from the twelfth century. It’s a mix of old and new that looks absolutely brilliant. Lord Talbot restored it, so it’s got style. Give it a cheer!
Architectural fragment in SaintdoolaghsArchitectural fragment · 15 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Architectural fragment in Saintdoolaghs involves late medieval mouldings being used as coping stones for a wall, which is peak recycling. They’re just lying there at the foot of some steps, probably dreaming of their glory days. Bring biscuits, every good story needs biscuits.
Explorer Tom St Doolaghs Church has the steepest vaulted roof in Ireland at 68 degrees, which is just show-off territory. There’s also a hermit’s cell hidden in there somewhere. It’s a multi-period mess that looks very fancy though.
Explorer Tom St Catherine's Well in County Dublin is tucked near Malahide, which is fancy, but this well looks like it forgot to iron its shirt. It might be a wishing well for lost keys. Make a wish and keep moving!
Children's playground992 ydComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom Another Children's playground in County Dublin with a bench that tells fortunes. Sit down, close your eyes, and wait for the wood to whisper your future. It’s probably nonsense, but fun.
St. Marnocks Bay PlaygroundChildren's playground · 1.2 miComputer-made pictureExplorer Tom St. Marnocks Bay Playground in County Dublin sounds like a place where boats go to die. Access is unknown, so it might be underwater by now. Take a picture for me if you find dry land!
CastleCastle, unclassified · 1.3 miExplorer Tom Castle in Feltrim is Fagan’s place where an Earl got locked up under Elizabeth I. Legend says James II crashed here while running from the Boyne battle. It's the kind of place that makes a dull Tuesday feel like a historical thriller.
Strand Mill RuinsRuins · 1.6 miExplorer Tom Strand Mill Ruins in County Dublin is rotting away nicely. The photo says 'Rock Nook', so who knows what this actually is. Get me a shot of the rubble!
Stardust MemorialMemorial · 1.7 miExplorer Tom Stardust Memorial in County Dublin is sparkling with tragedy. A park opened in September, probably full of sad songs. Snap a photo for me if you find it!
Map of Baldoyle Industrial EstateVisitor information · 1.8 miExplorer Tom Map of Baldoyle Industrial Estate shows you where all the boring factories are. Perfect for avoiding if you want to see actual nature, I suppose.
Graveyard in Kilbarrack LowerGraveyard · 2.7 miExplorer Tom Graveyard in Kilbarrack Lower was originally built right on the strand before they walled it off. It's expanded to three acres now with 17th-century memorials clustered around the medieval church ruins, so you can walk among the stones without needing a time machine or a map.
