Rock art in Magheranaul

Rock art

What is recorded here

Don 11G and Don 11H sit a few metres apart on one ridge in Magheranaul. Don 11H is a small isolated block with at least two faint cupmarks, while Don 11G is the larger neighbouring rock art site. Together they mark a quiet stretch of County Donegal where stone, rain and time have worn human marks into something barely visible.
Described by Van Hoek as 'A couple metres W of DON 11G (DG004-063007-) is an isolated block of stone probably part of a long ridge. It shows at least two faint cupmarks' (Van Hoek 1987, 30). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload/revision: : 30 May 2010
