Twenty-one faint cupmarks press into a low sloping rock in County Donegal, some wearing rings like targets drawn without thought. They sit beside another marked stone in the same field, waiting for rain to reveal what sunlight hides. A person may have knelt there to mark time, claim territory or simply enjoy the resistance of hard stone under a sharp tool. The marks have survived centuries of weather because they were cut deep enough to refuse forgetting.

Described by Van Hoek as 'A few metres to the SE of DON 21 (DG004-064----) and in the same field, against the E-W wall is another, lower outcrop with at least five faint single cupmarks' (Van Hoek 1987, 34). Revisited by Van Hoek in 1988 and described as 'This outcrop, sloping 15 degrees E, proved to bear at least 21 cupmarks of different sizes and shapes; two cups each with one ring; one oval cup with an oval ring mark; and the very faint traces of a cup with three rings.
