Don 17 holds a cartouche of cupmarks, but two metres south-west sits a lone mark on isolated grass. That distance transforms the site from a collection into a conversation. Someone may have set the second cup apart deliberately, creating a pause between the main group and a final answer. The grass still covers that answer, waiting for a knee to drop beside it and complete the shape.
