What is recorded here

Described by Kinahan (1884, 226 (stone D)) as 'a small peaked stone with two cups and two gashes. One of the latter seems to be much more recent that the other marks, which appear to be ancient in date.' The location indicated by Kinahan (1884, 224) was inspected by ASI in 1990 however this stone was not located. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 20 August 2013

Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the rock art may have had ritual or symbolic significance, possibly linked to water sources or territorial markers. The more recent gash suggests later, possibly historic-period modification or reuse of the site.
