What is recorded here

Described by Kinahan (1884, 228 (stone H)) as 'a large solid block of granite. It seems to have been cupped at one time; but the surface has been so injured by fire that no distinct cups can now be made out.' The location indicated by Kinahan (1884, 224) was inspected by ASI in 1990, however this stone was not located. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 20 August 2013

Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, this rock art site may have had ritual or symbolic significance, possibly linked to ceremonial practices involving fire. The damaged cup marks suggest it was part of a broader tradition of marked stones found across Ireland.
