Road

A radially split timber, orientated WNW-ESE, was located on the milled surface immediately ESE of a drain. The timber (visible L 0.3m; wedge-shaped section - Wth 0.15-0.16m; T 0.04-0.06m) was not horizontal and was covered by the bog at its ESE end. Exposed in the drain face underneath, and mostly separated from the timber by a layer of bog, was a compact concentration of brushwood and twigs (L 0.5-0.6m; T 0.2m max.). The brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.035m) lay horizontally and had various orientations. One almost vertical rod (diam. 0.015m) was present between the spread and the split timber.
