What is recorded here

The site (Wth 1.68m; D 0.22m) consists of a large deposit of brushwood with a small amount of twigs. The brushwood is concentrated in a broad band, evenly distributed on the NE and central portion of the site. To the SW are four heavier pieces of brushwood 0.33m from the main concentration of the site. The elements are predominantly orientated NNW-SSE, with the lighter material more irregularly laid. The wood is in mixed condition and there is a degraded chisel point and a half-split piece. Wood species include hazel, birch, willow and oak. This material is set in moderately humified Sphagnum peat containing fibrous remains with some Eriophorum. SMR WM039-350----, SMR WM039-351---- and this site form a cluster 2.5m around the N end of SMR WM039-180----. Date of upload: 22 August 2013
