Ring-ditch

What is recorded here

Cropmark of wide fosse of roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) visible in aerial photograph (CASAP, July 1989). North end crossed by one of two parallel linear fosses, possibly indicating routeway, which extend south-westwards and then turn south-eastwards across field. Roughly circular macula immediately to NW. Ring-ditches (CO007-15701-; CO007-15703-) to S and E respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
