What is recorded here

Ring-ditch in Ballybannon is a single earthwork visible only when dry soil and growing grass render its shadow. It belongs to the old surveyed landscapes of County Carlow, where abandoned ditches still trace themselves through fields long after their makers departed. The ditch may have marked a home, a boundary, a burial or a child's game with soil and rain. However, it has survived every plough, road and forgetting that could have erased it.
