What is recorded here

One chamber contained a living woman, one a dead man, one an empty chair. The third door opened onto a road that ended at the fort itself. She walked the road twice before stopping to breathe. When she returned, the empty chair held a man made of rain. He thanked her for remembering the shape of forgotten things.
