Richborough Fort, also known as Richborough Roman Fort, was a major Roman Saxon Shore Fort built in the 3rd century AD to defend the southeast coast of Britain. It is historically significant as one of the best-preserved Roman forts in England and is associated with the Roman military presence and coastal defense strategies in the region.
