Ballymacswiny Friary; This friary was founded probably in the second half of the 15th century by McSwiny Doe for the Franciscan Third Order Regular. The friary was sold in 1612 to Sir Ralph Bingley (Gwynn and Hadcock 1970, 268; Ó Domhnaill 1952, 101). No visible trace of the friary buildings survive. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.'
