What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1840, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of lichen-spotted granite ashlar piers on plinths having pyramid-topped stepped capping supporting wrought iron double gates with lichen-spotted granite ashlar outer piers on plinths having pyramid-topped stepped capping. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Woodville House.
A gateway forming part of a neat self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 15702910) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at an entrance on to the grounds of the Woodville House estate.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
