An extensive walled garden associated with Tullynally Castle (15400321), which contributes positively to the group values and the setting within this important demesne. This is complex is one of the largest of its kind in Ireland and was described in 1835 by the owner at the time as being 'impossibly large for these times'. This complex acts as an interesting historical reminder of the extensive organisation and the high level of resources needed to maintain a large country demesne in Ireland during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The survival of an early avenue of Irish yew trees is of botanical interest.
