Half-hidden under grass and scrub on a Meath drumlin, Tullyarran Fort keeps its circle intact, a low earthen ring wide enough to swallow several shadowed rooms. It is called a fairy fort in local tradition, which may mean only that people stopped asking who lived there and began listening for what moved inside. The missing entrance does not weaken the place; it refuses to be fully known.

Located on the summit of a NW-SE drumlin ridge, it is described as ‘Tullyarran Fort’ in gothic lettering on the OS 6-inch maps. This is a circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 49m N-S; 46m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (at NE: Wth of base 2.8m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.3m) and hedge with traces of an external stone facing, and slight traces of an external fosse or drain (at NE: Wth 0.9m; ext. D 0.2m). The original entrance is not identified.
