What is recorded here
Detached six-bay single-storey outbuilding, built c. 1870. Rectangular-plan. Pitched corrugated-iron roof. Random rubble stone walling to north, south and east; dressed limestone ashlar to corners; cast-iron girders support roof to west. Outbuilding situated off laneway between Townleyhall Church of Ireland Church and Melifont School.
This outbuilding is situated within the curtilage of the Church of Ireland church. The fine ashlar limestone stone work to the corners of the structure indicates the use of skilled craftsmen of the period. The arcaded roof elevation is an unusual feature and one that is worthy of note.
